History of theoretical physics in Bulgaria is investigated documentary. After the Second World War theoretical physics entered in new stage in Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and Sofia University. We do not discuss it here. There are two other stages before that.

Theoretical investigations started at the Sofia University before theoretical physics chair to be created. During the first stage of theoretical physics history in Bulgaria, assistants in physics from the Sofia University specialized abroad theoretically mainly and they enforced their ability in theoretical investigations in meteorology and astronomy in the beginning of twentieth century.

Georgi Nadjakov got additional financial support for experimental research abroad at first. Faculty council of the Sofia University granted him 5000 leva from the “Research fund” to buy materials in his experiments in Paris (1925-1926).

Parallel between theoretical investigation of Stayko Staykov, Kiril Popov and Ivan Tzenov and Professor Georgi Maneff's research in classical theoretical physics makes this work.
