(20.03.1947 – 22.06.2017)

Born:

H. Vankov was born in Draganovo.

Education:

He graduated physics M. Sc. degree and title engineer in the Saint-Petersburg State Polytechnical University, Russia) His subject was "Physics of Dosimetry and Radiation Protection" (1971)

Vankov defended PhD thesis: "Properties of electron-photon showers at high energies" at the Institute for Nuclear Research and Nuclear Energy of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (1983)

Research:

Astrophysics and cosmic ray physics are the fields of his research

He made mathematical models for nuclear particles interactions in the atmosphere

Experience:

Institute of Physics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences appointed him as a research scientist (1971 – 1977)

Vankov was Research Associate Professor at the Institute for Nuclear Research and Nuclear Energy (1977 – 1982)
