Georgi Nadjakov created Institute of Physics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. It was grown gratefully to his prestige as a scientist and director (1946 – 1971). The mountain station in Musala and nuclear research reactor were built. Some sections of the Institute of Physics became independent Institutes

Georgi Nadjakov was retired in February 20, 1972. He had a personal laboratory in the main building of the Institute of Solid State Physics up to his death. Museum was created in his laboratory after that

Institute of Solid State Physics was followed by the name of "Georgi Nadjakov" with decree 292 since 16 February 1982. Prize in physics "Georgi Nadjakov" was constituted in Bulgaria since 1987
