Sava Dimitrov Simeonov
(21.02.1931 – 16.10.2016)

Born in Sofia

Married. Irjana Georgieva was his wife.

Education

He graduated physics at the Sofia University (1953).

Sava Simeonov specialized in Kiev and Moscow 6 months (1963)

Research:

Работи в областите физика на твърдото тяло, молекулен спектрален анализ, лазерна физика и ядрен магнитен резонанс His investigations are in the field of solid state physics, spectral analysis, quantum electronics, nuclear magnetic resonance

Sava Simeonov investigated electron spectrum (absorption and luminescence) of organic compounds. He studied influence of aggregate state, solvent and temperature on electronic energy levels.

He independently worked on molecular spectroscopy

In the field of quantum electronics, he build liquid lasers

Professional experience

He was assistant (30 July 1954), and associate professor (1985) in the optics and spectroscopy sector at the Institute of Solid State Physics up to 17 August 1991

Teaching activities

Sava Simeonov lectured university course on molecular spectroscopy in the Sofia University from 1971

He tutored 6 diploma thesis

Awards

He was awarded by the sign of honor from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (1974)

Publication

During the year 1986 he had 25 published articles, 1 university textbook about molecular spectroscopy, 11 reports and 4 patents for invention
