Biography
Stefan Nikolaev Rijikov
(09.09.1928 – 06.07.2017)

Born

S. Rijikov was born in Burgas

Education

He graduated physics at the Sofia Universiry (1954)

Research

He took part in glass apparatuces production as difussion pumps, distilers, and Geiger-Muller counters for the Cosmick Ray Station on the Musala peak (1959–1983)

He took part at the restoration and implementation of powerful transmission lamps in Veliko Tarnovo together with Vasiliy Kanev, Viktor Orlinov and Kalojan Bobev in 1960

He developed quarz tube production using propane butane gas in 1960s

He investigated glass-metal bonding and quartz tube production for copper-bromide lasers (1974–1988)

Professional experience

He worked in the department for glass production at the Educational technical industry, Sofia (1954–1955)

He became member (1955) and head of glass preparing laboratory at the BAS Institute of Physics (1955)

Award

100 years BAS medal (1969)
