YORDANKA CHRISTOVA PACHEVA
(05.01.1919 – 2003)

Born

She was born in Karaisen Vilage near to Pavlikeni

Education

Y. Pacheva studied physics at the Sofia University (1942), and PhD in the St. Petersburg (Leningrad) University (from 1951)

Teaching activities

She was a teacher (1942–1945)

Profesional Experience

Y. Pacheva was member of the State geologikar department (1947–1951), and assistant at the Sofia University (1951–1961)

Bulgarian Academy of Sciences appointed her in the Institute of Physics spectroscopy section (from 1961)

She became associate professor (1963), scientific secretary (1963–1968), and professor (1983)

Yordanka Pacheva created and headed atomic spectroscopy research group at the BAS Institute of Solid State Physics (1973–1988)

Research

She investigated experimentaly physics of atom, plasma, and lasers
