Prof. N. Martinov was vice-dean of the Faculty of Physics, Vice-Rector and Rector of the Sofia University, and member of the Condensed Matter Physics Scientific Council
Prof. N. Martinov was chairman of the National Agency for Assessment and Accreditation (1999–2004)
He was Vice-President of the Society of the Physicists in Bulgaria
Awards
He was awarded the honorary sign "St. Kliment Ohridski" blue ribbon and medal "St. St. Cyril and Methodius", first degree
