Jordan Petrov Malinowski
(03.06.1923 – 12.03.1996)



Born in Sliven

Education

He graduated Sofia University Faculty of Physics and Mathematics (1948)

He became Ph.D. student (1958) and D.Sc. (1969)

Experience

Jordan Malinovski was assistant at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences Institute of Physic (1949–1958)

Associate professor (1959–1963), and professor (1963) at the BAS Institute of Physical Chemistry

He was creator and first director of the BAS Central laboratory on Photoprocesses (1967–1992) – Institute of Optical Materials and Technologies now

Bulgarian Academy of Sciences elected him corresponding member (1979) and full member (1989)

Jordan Malinowski was president of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (1991–1996)

Research

In the area of physical chemistry, he investigated photographic process and crystal growth
