He graduated M.Sc. in Physics at the Sofia University (1977)

The subject of his Ph.D. in Mathematics at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, U.S.A. is "Boundary value and Wiener-Hopf problems for abstract kinetic equations with nonregular collision operators" (1986)
