I. Bivas was born in Plovdiv

Education

He graduated from Sofia Universiry (1974), PhD (1981), D.Sc (2005)

Research

In the area of liquid crystals he investigated theoreticaly elastic properties of lipid Membranes, flexoelectricity and elasticity of nematics, statistical mechanical theory for Hydrophobic Lipid Bilayer
