Biography
Lilyana Dimitrova Pramatarova
(18.09.1945 – 30.04.2016)
Education  graduated from the Sofia Unitersity in 1968.

She was a PhD student in the Ioffe Institute of St Petersburg. J. I Alferov tutored her research. She defended her dissertation in 1977.

Research:

    She invented a new method for crystal growth of biocompatible layers.

    In the beginning, she studied crystal growth using method of molecular beam epitaxy.

Professional experience:

    Bulgarian Academy of Sciences appointed her in the Institute of Physics in 1968. She worked there until her death.

    She founded a new laboratory for biocompatible materials in 2006 and leaded it up to 2015.

Award

Institute of Solid State Physics honoured her with "G. Nadjakov" medal on a ribbon.
