В новосъздадената от нея лаборатория по биосъвместими материали в Института по физика на твърдото тяло при БАН създава метод за израстване на биосъвместими покрития за костни импланти чрез стимулирано лазерно облъчване.
Първите й изследвания са върху хетероструктури на съединения от вида ІІ-VІ. Изучава израстването на кристали от течна фаза и по метода на молекулярно-лъчевата епитаксия.
Професионален опит
Във Физическия институт на Българската академия на науките започва работа през 1968 година. В Института по физика на твърдото тяло е избрана за доцент през 1992 година.
Създава нова лаборатория по биосъвместими материали през 2006 година, която ръководи до 2015 година.
Награди
ИФТТ - БАН награждава доц. д-р Лиляна Праматарова с почетния знак на Института "Акад. Г. Наджаков" на лента.
Публикации
Автор е на една монография, 3 глави от книги и над 80 научни статии.
