Biography
PENKA PETKOVA KIRCHEVA
(02.11.1934 – †20.01.2014)

Born: in Gorna Orjahovitsa.

Education:

    Penka Kircheva graduated Sofia University and specialised one year in Russia

    She defended PhD in the area of stimulated Raman spectroscopy at the Institute of Solid State Physics, BAS.

Research:

    She took part in a solid-state ruby laser and a liquid organic laser creation for the first time in ISSP

    She investigated organic dyes by stimulated fluorescence and resonance Raman spectroscopy.

    She described theoretically stimulated emission of systems with three and four energetic levels.

Professional experience:

    Penkd Kircheva was appointed in the laboratory of optics and spectroscopy at the Institute of Solid State Physics, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in the 70s of the 20th century.

    She was elected an associate professor and retired in 1994.
