Biography
Viktor Kalchev Vranski
(15.08.1914 – 1990)
Born: Biktor Vranski was born in Sofia [1]

Education:

He graduated physics at the Sofia University (1937).

He was PhD student at the University of Prague (1939) and defemded it at the Sofia University (1942). Georgi Nadjakov was his tutor. Elisabeth Kara-Michailova and Ruscho Raynov were reviewers to his PhD thesis [2].

Research:

The area of his work was X-Ray and biophysics of membranes.

Professional Experience:

Viktor Vranski was assistant at the Sofia University Faculty of Physics and Mathematics (07.1939 – 05.1943), and Faculty of Medicine (05.1943 – 07.1947). He worked at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences Institute of Physics (07.1947 – 1948).

Viktor Vranski created Central Biophysical Laboratory at the High Medical Institute in Sofia (1962–1968).

He founded new Biophysical Laboratory at the University of Havana (1979–1981).

Teaching activities::

He was lecturer in the Faculty of Agronomy, and the Faculty of Food Industry in Plovdiv.

Viktor Vranski was professor and founder of chairs on Physics at the Plovdiv University (1948 – 1953), Faculty of Agriculture Mechanisation and Electrification (1953 – 1955), and on the Faculty of Agronomy (1955 – 1962) at the Agricultural Academy in Sofia.

He was Professor and head of the Charir on Physics at the Agricultural Academy (1968 – 1974) and of the chair on Medical Physics and Biophysics of the High Medical Institute in Sofia (1974 – 1979).

He was Honorary Professor at the High Medical Institute in Varna (1981 – 1982) and advisor of the Palace of Physics in Kazanlak (05.1982 – 01.09.1985)
