Professor Saltiel was born in Sofia


He studied Technical School "A. Popov" in Sofia, graduated Moscow State University Ph.D. (1976), and obtained scientific degree Sc.D. (1995) in Bulgaria


He worked in the area of non linear optics

Professional experience:

Professor S. Saltiel was director of the Sofia University Institute of Laser Technic

He was corresponding member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (2004)

Teaching activities

Full Professor and chief of the Department of Quantum electronics (19962009)

He was lecturer in the Sofia University, Department of Quantum Electronics (19782009).

Professor S. Saltiel lectured courses on Quantum electronics and Laser Technics, and initiated course on Photonic structures.
