  3. Lise Meitner Prize for Nuclear Science will be given by the Nuclear Physics Division of the European Physical Society. Nominations deadline is 28 February 2018

  4. Turriano ICOHTEC Prize for books on the history of technology (2500 Euro, deadline 2 February 2018). Winner will receive 500 Euro in additional support of travelling to the conference to receive the prize.

  5. Maurice Daumas Prize for articles on the history of technology (500 Euro, deadline 15 January 2018). The winner will receive a cash prize of Euro 500 as well as a travel grant of Euro 300 (if needed) to attend the ICOHTEC Symposium to receive the prize

Royal Society Awards
  1. Rumford Medal is awarded for outstanding researcher in the field of physics. Nomination is open up to 29 January 2018

  2. Royal Society Athena Prize is open for nomination up to 29 January 2018

  3. Copley Medal is awarded annually for outstanding achievements in any branch of science made by experiment or otherwise. It is the world's oldest scientific prize first awarded in 1731 from Godfrey Copley FRS (1653 – 1709) who donated 1000 pounds for improving natural knowledge. Nomination is open up to 29 January 2018

  4. Royal Medals are three Royal Medals awarded annually for most important contributions “to the advancement of Natural Knowledge” in the physical and biological sciences. The third medal is awarded for distinguished contributions in the applied sciences. Nomination is open up to 29 January 2018

  5. Bakerian Medal and Lecture is awarded annually in physical sciences. It was established by Henry Baker FRS (1698 – 1774). Nomination is open up to 29 January 2018

  6. Davy Medal is awarded annually to an outstanding researcher in the field of chemistry. It was first awarded in 1877. Nomination is open up to 29 January 2018

  7. Gabor Medal is awarded to an outstanding researcher in the field of interdisciplinary work between the life sciences with other disciplines. Dennis Gabor (05.06.1900 – 09.02.1979) is engineer, Nobel Prize winner and inventor of holography. Nomination is open up to 29 January 2018

  8. Hughes Medal is awarded biennially (in odd years) to an outstanding researcher in the field of energy. David E. Hughes (1831 – 1900) is a scientist and musician. He invented the first microphone. The medal is awarded annually. It is accompanied by a gift of 2,000 Pounds. Nomination is open up to 29 January 2018

  9. Kavli Education Medal is awarded for impact in the field of science, mathematics and computing education. It is accompanied by a gift of 1,000 Pounds. Nomination is open up to 29 January 2018

  10. Kavli Medal and Lecture is awarded for excellence in all fields of science and engineering relevant to the environment. It is accompanied by a gift of 1,000 Pounds. Nomination is open up to 29 January 2018

  11. Leverhulme Medal is awarded for an outstanding researcher in the field of chemical engineering and applied chemistry. It is accompanied by a gift of 2,000 Pounds. Nomination is open up to 29 January 2018

  12. Michael Faraday Prize and Lecture

    Royal Society Rosalind Franklin Award and Lecture is awarded to a women with critical contribution in science. It is accompanied by a grant of 30,000 Pounds. Nomination is open up to 29 January 2018

  13. Milner Award and Lecture is awarded for outstanding achievement in computer science by a European researcher. Professor Robin Milner FRS (1934-2010), a pioneer in computer science. Nomination is open up to 29 January 2018

  14. Sylvester Medal is awarded to an outstanding researcher in the field of mathematics. It is accompanied by a gift of 2,000 Pounds. Nomination is open up to 29 January 2018

  15. Wilkins-Bernal-Medawar Medal and Lecture is given for excellence in a subject relating to the history of science, philosophy of science or the social function of science. It is accompanied by a gift of 2,000 Pounds. Nomination is open up to 29 January 2018

  16. The Royal Society Innovation Awards will be available each year of up to 250,000 Euro: one for research in the Physical sciences and one for research in the Biological sciences.

  1. Angiola Gili and Cataldo Agostinelli: International Prize amounting to ˆ 10.000, to a scientist who has achieved distinction in the field of Applied or Theoretical Mechanics or Classic Mathematical Physics during the last ten years. The nomination must reach this Academy by the 31st March 2018.

  2. Modesto Panetti e Carlo Ferrari: International Prize amounting to ˆ 10.000, to a living scientist who is particularly distinguished for his research in the field of Applied Mechanics. The nomination must reach this Academy by the 15th April 2018.

Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei Awards

Luigi Tartufari gives four International awards for the academic year 2017–2018 : one to Mathematics; one to Astronomy, one to Physics and Chemistry, and one to the Molecular, cellular and evolutionary biology (in the amount of 25 000 Euro each). Nomination deadline is 31 December 2017

Antonio Feltrinelli Giovani Four National Prizes in Archeology, Art and Poetry Criticism, Legal Sciences and Social and Politics Sciences will be awarded to Italian Scholars under the age of 40 who have achieved results of autstanding originality independence and international significance, in the amount of 50 000 each. Nomination may be submited by the Lincei Fellows and the Presidents of Italian and foreign Academies. Deadline for nominations is 31 October 2017

Isaac Newton medal International award

Born medal and prize commemorate Max Born who died in 1970. It is International bilateral award. The Institute of Physics (IoP) and the German Physical Society set up this award in 1972

Occhialini medal and prize is International bilateral award given from the Italian Physical Society and the Institute of Physics (IoP) to honor the memory of Giuseppe Occhialini since 2007.

Dirac gold medal is specifically for theoretical, mathematical and computational physics named after P A M Dirac in 1985

Faraday gold medal is established in 2008

Glazebrook gold medal and prize is instituted in 1965

Swan gold medal is known as Business and Innovation Medal.

Bragg medal and prize is education and outreach award given for the popularization and teaching of physics

Kelvin bronze medal and prize is education and outreach award instituted in October 1994 for outstanding contribution to public engagement within physics

Appleton medal and prize is subject award. It has originally been known as the Chree medal and prize memorated to Dr Charles Chree (President of The Physical Society 1908 – 1910)

Franklin medal is a subject award given for research in physics, life sciences, medical and biological physics. Rosalind Franklin is a x-ray crystallographer who understands structure of DNA. The medal is accompanied by a prize of 1000

Gabor medal and prize is a subject award given for research in physics. It is known as a Duddell medal since 1923. William du Bois Duddell invented the electromagnetic oscillograph. Dennis Gabor is a Hungarian – British physicist. He invented the technique of holography, a method of photographical recording and reproducing three dimensional images and received the Nobel Prize in Physics (1971)

Khwarizmi International Award in science and technology for researchers, inovators and inventors all over the worlk in Aerospase, Biotechnology, Environment, Electrical and Computer, Materials, Mechanics, Mechatronics, Information and Nanotechnology and Industry and Technology Management is implementing annualy since 1986.
